Frequently Asked Questions

What is Tandemly?
Tandemly is a public portfolio of real AI projects and synthesized research. A small group of builders co-creating alongside AI tools, sharing what they make, and learning in public. Not a startup, not a product — just curiosity meeting code.
What can I find on Tandemly?
Tandemly has two main sections: Research (plain-language summaries of academic AI papers, covering topics like AI ethics education and cost-efficient agent reasoning) and Projects (interactive AI experiments like Cutthroat, a ruthless word game). New projects and research summaries are added regularly.
Who builds Tandemly?
A small group of non-traditional builders — people who didn’t come from traditional software engineering backgrounds but are deeply fluent in working with AI. Everything is co-built with AI (primarily Claude), not just assisted by it. The distinction matters: AI is a creative partner here, not an autocomplete.
What is vibe coding?
Vibe coding is the practice of building software by describing what you want to an AI and iterating collaboratively. Instead of writing code directly, you steer AI tools like Claude Code or Cursor to implement your vision. Most of Tandemly’s projects are vibe coded — the builders focus on what to build and why, while AI handles the how.
What are the research summaries?
Tandemly publishes plain-language summaries of academic AI research — papers we read, distilled for curious people who don’t want to decode jargon. Each summary follows a six-section format: TL;DR, the problem, the experiment, findings, practical takeaways, and getting started. They’re synthesized by Kelly Chiang and Claude.
Is Tandemly a company or startup?
No. Tandemly is not a startup, not a consultancy, and not a course platform. It’s a public portfolio and a record of what happens when non-traditional builders experiment at the edge of what AI can do. Think of it as a workshop with the garage door open.
How can I get in touch or contribute?
Email hello@tandemly.ai. Whether you have a project you’ve co-built with AI, a research paper you think we should synthesize, or just want to say hi — we’d love to hear from you.
